This course will focus on the concepts “Hero” and “Role Model” and explore the following: - What is a hero/role model? - What is difference between a hero and a role model? - Where and in what contexts/domains are heroes/role models found? - What characteristics/traits do they have, and how did they develop these? - What is the significance of heroes/role models in modern society? The following multimedia materials/resources in English will be used during the course lessons: - Authentic and current magazine articles - Songs - Video clips - Internet Websites Topics include: - Definitions of a hero/role model - Your personal hero/role model - Political heroes/role models - Sports heroes/role models - Heroes/role models in the arts and literature - Humanitarians and volunteers - Environmental (Green) heroes/role models - Historical heroes/role models - Japanese heroes/role models - Everyday heroes/role models |
