Course Description
This is a two part course.  You may take either “Local Peace Education” in semester one or “Global Peace Education” in semester two, or both.  One of the main goals of peace education is to help you understand how you can help build a more positive future and make your world a more peaceful place to live.  As a class, we will look together at some of the following questions:
What does “peace” mean?
How can I cultivate a culture of peace in my local context?
How can I use what I learn outside the classroom?
Objectives
Students will
1. develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills with hands-on activities inside and outside of class
2. build their awareness of local issues from the perspective of peace education
3. contribute to their classmates’ learning by working collaboratively on a series of projects

評価方法: You will receive a grade based on the following:
Active Participation: 50%
Projects: 50% (10% each)
You will be expected to assess yourself as part of your grade and you will also take part in providing feedback to other class members.
