This semester-long course’s aim is to help students cultivate a better understanding of Africa. Students will look at how Africa is home to diverse cultures and people, debunking the myth that Africa is “one country.” Students will also examine how the current predicaments African societies face have been greatly impacted by the colonial legacy. This course will continue to expand on the skills students have acquired in EIC 1 and 2, and encourage them to think of themselves as global citizens.
