注意事項: |
We will speak English mainly in class by each student completing an activity at the beginning of each class to decide how much English he / she will speak for that day. Therefore, we will have to respect each others' use of English and Japanese during small group activities. Each part of the Grading (Quizzes, Homework, Attendance / Participation, etc.) will be worth 20% of students' total course grades, so every part will be equally important in order to get a passing grade in the course. Absences or tardy arrivals to class of students who are job hunting will not be excused. However, students who are job hunting will be allowed to complete assignments they miss at a later date for some Participation points, as long as they show evidence of job hunting activities for the days during which they miss class. Active Participation by all students will be required in class, so maintaining motivation to read, write, speak and listen in English during class time will be necessary to engage with the concepts we will study. The concepts concerning popular culture we will study are complicated, and learning about them in a foreign language requires various ways of studying. Therefore, students will be required to both actively complete tasks and actively listen to lectures: individually, with the instructor, or with classmates. |
