This course will give students an overview of human rights and human rights abuses around the world. Students will do readings, research, and presentations on specific issues and people of interest to them. Students taking this course will: 1. Become familiar with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the corresponding articles 2. Learn about regions of the world where people are suffering/have suffered from human rights abuses 3. Discuss Human Rights as they apply to students and the communities in which students live 4. Research and Give Presentations on contemporary Human Rights issues and abuses 5. Research and Give Presentations on Important People in Human Rights |
