This seminar concentrates on basic areas of communication research as well as appropriate methods to answer research questions. Class will include discussion of topics in the field of communication, and attention will also be given to developing individual research goals. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches to communication research will be discussed, and students will be expected to come up with appropriate research questions and fundamental methods for trying to answer them. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking and a scholarly attitude and approach to research. The seminar is open to all majors, regardless of research interest, and is particularly appropriate for students who plan to develop research projects and write in English.

評価方法：

Grades will be based on seminar particpation and written assignments. Students are expected to apply principles to their own research as well as provide input and support for their colleagues in class. Class members are expected to maintain a scholarly and professional attitude.
