Through a series of presentations and learning/discussing communication theories, this course aims at developing your communication skills in English and helping you speak with confidence in a variety of public speaking situations. Specifically, this course focuses on the two major purposes of public speaking/communication: (1) to inform (2) to persuade. The topics covered in this course include: research, supporting material, audience analysis & adaptation, delivery (verbal & nonverbal), presentation aids, organization, outlining, listening, and argumentation.

評価方法: Speech 1: Narrative Speech (including a typed full sentence outline)
Speech 2: Informative Speech (including a typed full sentence outline)
Speech 3: Impromptu Speech
Speech 4: Persuasive Speech (including a typed full sentence outline)
Self-critique: A personal assessment of your own videotaped speech
Participation Points (i.e., Discussion, Peer Feedback)
2 Quizzes: Announced quizzes on class material

注意事項: 1.  At least the B-level of English Language Proficiency is required at the time of registration.
2.  Enrollment Limit of 20 students. If more than 20 students wish to take this class, a selection exam (short essay) will be given on the first day of the class.
