We will discuss ethics in relation to the medical profession, business, education, employment, gender, the law and politics. The discussion will increase your cross-cultural understanding as culture has a substantial influence on our understanding of ethics. You will need to state a position on a given issue and then back up that position with an argument thus increasing your ability to be persuasive both orally and in writing.
You will be presented with an ethical issue each week; you will then have a chance to share your ideas about that issue. Each week you will be required to write a reflection; your ideas about that issue. There are no ‘correct’ answers to these issues, rather the focus will be on the way you support your ideas with reasons.
