In this course you will watch films that illustrate different aspects of U.S. culture and society. In addition you will be assigned readings (to be completed before or after viewing a film) that will complement movie topics and add to your knowledge of the topic presented. By viewing films, completing readings and participating in other class activities, you will heighten your awareness of important characteristics that make the United States a complex, troubled, admired and unique country. This class will be of value to anyone with a desire to learn more about U.S. culture and society.
