| English today has become a global language where there are actually more people who speak it as a second language than there are who speak it as a first. In this course, we will look at how English has spread around the world, how it has split into many different kinds of English, and how it has become a global language. We will also think about the issues that have come up as a result of this, and look at particular examples of varieties of English around the world. |
| 評価方法： | Grades will be based on (1) a final exam, (2) a research project and presentation, (3) participation in class discussions, and (4) homework and quizzes. |
