  An Introduction to the Field of Conflict Resolution: Theory and Practice

This course is intended to introduce students to some basic theoretical concepts in the field of conflict resolution. In addition there will be a practical component to this course in which students will have an opportunity to reflect on the ways they deal with conflict, as well as learn about collaborative negotiation skills.
Students will be asked to read selected articles each week. Active discussion and participation based on these weekly readings is required. Students will also be expected to do individual research on a topic related to conflict and present their findings both orally and in a written essay. Students will also be required to contribute to a group presentation in which they will present and analyse one example of conflict.
