Do you like listening to thought-provoking and inspiring stories? Do you like to write your own stories? Do you like to tell stories to your friends? Would you like to improve your storytelling skills? In this course you will hear many stories from around the world, write your own stories, and tell them to others, both inside and outside of class. Students will have the opportunity to work on their listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and public speaking skills.

授業計画――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
1. - Students will read and listen to a variety of stories from around the world and then retell them to others both inside and outside of class.
2. - Students will discuss cultural differences and similarities found in stories from different countries.
3. - Students will write and tell their own original stories.
4. - Students will prepare and present a storytelling performance using picture cards, a traditional Japanese storytelling technique called kami shibai.
5. - Students will also have the chance to prepare and perform rakugo stories in English.
6. - Students will keep an action log in which they will record their reactions to stories they have heard or read, and their reflections on their own storytelling experiences, both inside and outside of class.
