This seminar focuses on the structure of spoken discourse in English and Japanese. The class consists of discussions of readings and the reporting of data. The first sememster will focus mainly on the reading of articles and discussions. Students may be asked to lead the discussions and give presentations. In the second semester students will gather, transcribe, and analyze discourse. They will present their data analyses in class and in a final written report. This class is conducted in English and Japanese.

評価方法： Attendance, class participation, presentation, final report.

注意事項：

Students must have already taken the class　英語談話分析。（同時履修認めません） The class size is limited to 20. If you want to take this class, you must attend the class on the first day. Students will be selected based on an essay and interview with the instructor.
