1. Sensitively appraise, examine and introduce characteristics of horror fiction sub-genres and literary elements through readings, films, discussions and activities using English.  
2. Investigate the historical origins and definition of horror within a society.
3. Cross-culturally compare and contrast themes of horror in both the U.S. and Japan.
4. Develop vocabulary through use of synonyms and antonyms.
5. Improve critical and narrative essay writing skills.
6. Developing ability to search for information using the internet.
