This course is designed for students to practice close reading of the assigned text about American cultural phenomena. Prior to each class each student must read the text and look up unfamiliar words in a dictionary. We will explore an historical overview of Hollywood movies and discuss ideologies, beliefs, and values revolving around such critical issues as Race, Ethnicity, Class, and Gender. Excerpts of films will occasionally be shown.

評価方法：

出席、授業参加、レポートの総合評価とする。
