  Introduction to Thai Music II

A continuation of its predecessor, but not necessary a prerequisite. The class will give a more detailed outline of  Thai history and development of Thai classical music: from Sukhothai era to present embracing instrument development, ensembles, musics and music masters and musicians. Upon the completion of this course, students are expected to be:
1. Able to explain a brief history of Thailand
2. Able to describe by evidence the history of Thai music
3. Able to describe the relationship between Thai classical music and Thai society.
4. Able to describe the influence of economy, society and culture on Thai music
