１． Read simple texts and short stories with proper pronounciation and intonation. ２． Explain some or special words and phrases grammatically, textual, or illustrative. ３． Read authentic texts or news, identify main points and discuss them orally and in writing. ４． Read and discuss sories, showing comprehension of the plot, and demonstrating ability to represent it. ５． Read and extract salient informations from simple continuous texts, including graded stories, jokes, comics, songs, short dramatic scenes, etc. ６． Read informal reading text and re-tell in formal Indonesian.
