This is an elective course for non-Japanese students (ryugakusei) of the IC and IL departments. Pre-requisite to this course is satisfactory completion of the EPFS Intermediate English I and II course. Is is also recommended that students complete Intermediate English IIIA (Oral Communications) before taking this course. However, student do not have to have any prior work experience or knowledge of business.
The focus of this course is to (1) introduce general concepts used in business (2) introduce the English phrases/vocabulary important for doing business (3) help students develop communication skills (speaking, writing emails/correspondences) in Business English (4) introduce content that may be helpful for the TOEIC exam.
Students will be expected to work together actively in small groups/pairs throughout the course.
