This course is for the non-Japanese students of the IC and IL departments who have completed Beginners English, or who are assigned to this course by the EPFS placement exam (given in late March). Class time will be divided into 3 koma per week of textbook-based instruction and 1 koma per week of Independent Study.
The goals of the course are to help students (1) acquire a basic understanding of English (2) communicate and use English in various contexts (3) become better English learners/self-directed learners.
The instructors will use both English and Japanese to support the students as needed. However, students will be expected to speak English as much as possible in class.
