This course is intended for the non-Japanese students of the IC and IL departments who have completed Basic English, or who are assigned to this course by the English Program for Foreign Students （EPFS） placement exam, given in late March. The goals of this integrated skills course are to help students: (1) acquire an intermediate-level understanding of English (2) communicate and use English in various contexts (3) improve on all English skills through various course assignments and activities The instructor will use primarily English to teach the class. However, support in Japanese will be provided as necessary. Students will be expected to speak and use English as much as possible in class. Class activities will include: whole class activities, pair/group activities, short-speeches/speaking assignments, extensive reading assignments, quizzes/exams.

評価方法：

Grade policy will be explained during the 1st class lesson.

テキスト名：

The list of textbooks will be announced during the 1st class lesson. The course instructor will order the books for the students after the class list has been confirmed.

注意事項：

New KUIS non-Japanese students of the IC and IL departments must take an English placement exam during orientation week in  late March to determine their appropriate English course level.
