The focus of this class will be the study of folklore, myths and legends. These types of stories are a common feature of all societies. You will have an opportunity to learn about stories from all parts of the world: Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania/Australia, and the Americas. We will look at both the unique cultural traits and the common cross-cultural ideas found in these stories. This is a lecture style class; however, you will be actively involved in each class through a series of tasks and activities. These will include, but are not limited to, Internet searches, information hunts, presentations, role-plays, story telling, story writing, and group learning activities.

注意事項: There is a strong emphasis on reading in this class and for each unit there will be an exam and a student project.
