This is a social psychology course that focuses on understanding one’s own personality, why people do what they do, and why things are not always what they seem to be. A major goal is to help students better understand themselves and others by discovering what factors affect our personalities and ways of thinking. The course considers personality assessments, Japanese blood typing, horoscopes, and other ways people use to understand people. The main purpose of the class is to teach students to be able to separate scientific and non-scientific psychology.
