We are now faced with an unprecedented structural change in Japanese society. The change is not limited only in economic field, but in whole range of society itself. To say furthermore, it is not the matter of our country, but it concerns the world society. So, let's take a look at some of the issues confronting Japan at present. And then, let's try to figure out how we've arrived where we are and whether the situation is similar or different in other countries. The aim of course is to gain an understanding of the issues facing our society now, and to study these problems in order to understand what society will be like in the not distant future. |
