This is an introductory course to cover the main types and issues of nonverbal communication, in particular those of human communication. The course aims at developing a basic understanding of nonverbal behavior. It puts special emphasis on the different meanings and importance of nonverbal behavior in different cultural settings.

評価方法: Based on attendance and active participation in class. All members of the class are expected to make group presentations on a designated topic. Small papers and tests required.

  For presentations internet use is recommended.

注意事項: The class is run essentially in English, but contributions and written assignments are also accepted in Japanese.
