This is an introductory course to cover the main types and issues of nonverbal communication, in particular those of human communication. The course aims at developing a basic understanding of nonverbal behavior. It puts special emphasis on the different meanings and importance of nonverbal behavior in different cultural settings.

評価方法：

Based on attendance and active participation in class. All members of the class are expected to make group presentations on a designated topic. Small papers and tests required.

For presentations internet use is recommended.

The class is run essentially in English, but contributions and written assignments are also accepted in Japanese.

11．	Paralanguage.
12．	Visible and non-visible nonverbal behavior. Virtual territories.
