This course is for students who have taken Basic English or who are assigned to this course by the placement exam. The instructor will be a native English speaker. In first semester, students will begin their studies from Unit 10 of the American Headway 1 textbook. The focus will be on extending students'learning of basic and lower intermediate level English through an integrated skills method of instruction. This means all skills (grammar, reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, etcetera) will be taught together. The instructor will be using mostly English for classroom instruction. A video based on the textbook will also be used in class to practice listening comprehension and to listen to British English. |
