This course will deal with various aspects of human language and its relation to mind in a non-technical way. Topics covered will be broad, including language acquisition, the relation between language and culture, non-human communication systems, evolution, brain science and language impairment. Choice of some of the topics is up to the registered students.
This course also aims at improving skills to express ideas in English in a clear way. Students are encouraged to analyze people's views critically.

評価方法： Evaluation will be based on class presentations, participation, and written assignments.
