The Seminar in English Pedagogy A in the 2003-2004 academic year is entitled Principles of Foreign Language Learning. The seminar will explore some of the concepts which underlie the content and methodology of cources in teaching English as a foreign language.
In the first semester we will examine some fundamental principles of language, learning, culture, and communication. We will consider these in both historical and discipline context.
In the second semester we will study how the principles studied become manifest in approaches to the teaching of English as a foreign language,particularly in Japan. The analysis will again be both historical and discipline-baced.  

評価方法： Students will be graded on the basis of their participation in the seminar including oral presentations and written reports made to the seminar.
