The course aims at broadening our thinking about communication as a fundamental form of human interaction. Differences between communication styles and practices of people with different lingusitic and cultural backgrounds will be discussed. A look at communication theories from different cultural perspectives will contribute to the understanding of miscommunication.

評価方法：

Based on class participation and activity. All students are expected to provide presentations based on the reference literature.

テキスト名：

Individual articles and papers of the reference literature will be distributed in class for reading and study.

注意事項：

The class is run in English, but contributions and activity in class are accepted in Japanese as well. Presentations are however preferred to be delivered in English.
