The course aims at broadening our thinking about communication as a fundamental form of human interaction. Differences between communication styles and practices of people with different lingusitic and cultural backgrounds will be discussed. A look at communication theories from different cultural perspectives will contribute to the understanding of miscommunication.  

評価方法: Based on class participation and activity. All students are expected to provide presentations based on the reference literature.

テキスト名: Individual articles and papers of the reference literature will be distributed in class for reading and study.

注意事項: The class is run in English, but contributions and activity in class are accepted in Japanese as well. Presentations are however preferred to be delivered in English.
