Exploring Culture for Better Communication

The course aims at intensifying the awareness of the concepts of intercultural communication by using the latest textbook of Hofstede. We will discuss the way culture influences people in getting along with one another. Following the didactic triad of awareness of culture, knowledge of cultural patterns and skills in cross-cultural interaction, it is hoped that a better understanding of intercultural communication can be developed.  

評価方法: Based on class-participation and interaction. All students are expected to make individual presentations from the textbook.

注意事項: The course is run in English, but contributions and interactions in class are accepted in Japanese as well.
