The aim of applied linguistics is to relate linguistic theory to language learning, literacy, and communication. This raises issues such as how do people learn a language, be it their first or second. How do people learn to read and write? How do people adjust their language to different social settings? Finally, how do people adjust language use?  

評価方法: Assessment will be based on:
Attendance: 20%
Class participation, in-class tasks, and take-home assignments: 30%
Portfolio: 50%
