Understanding Team Games and Sports

Team Communication and how sport can aid in understanding others.How to win friends and influence people is the main text for this course as it has a strong effect on the course. After all to be a good team member you have to make friends with your teammates and sometimes you have to influence them to be an effective team.  

評価方法: This is calculated via class participation and attendance both with a 50%-50% weighting.

注意事項: Students are required to have sports clothes and foot wear. 

授業計画――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
1.Week one will include the explanation of the course followed by the collection of the completed student registration cards.
2.The second week will consist of a mini-seminar focusing on the basic outline of teamwork. Followed by the establishment of team groups via a random selection process. Finally the distribution of handout one by Dale Carnegie.
3.In week three the class will start to anaylsis at the work of Dale Carnegie. Following this a mini game will be slected to aid interaction between new teammates.
4.The fourth week will involve a mixture of team building activties (outdoors if weather is good). After this handout two will be dispensed.
5.Week five begins with a review of the handout the previous week and ends with another mini game.
6.Week six involves a series of problem solving tasks in teams plus issuing handout three.
7.The mini-seminar in the seventh week is a review of handout three following this another mini game is played.
8.Full team games (volleyball,ultimate soccer, basketball, or lacrosse) are played either indoors or out depending on weather.

11.Finally a review of team cooperation and assoicatied skills needed to improve teamwork are discussed via a personal questionnaire.
