Words that Moved The Nation II:World War II to The '60s

The aim of this course is familarize students with pieces of writing that have been cherished by American people. We will read selections of speeches, essays, poems, songs, and letters that illuminate significant aspects of American history and culture. These are words that were widely discussed in their time, that possess literary quality even now, and that will be rememberd by future generations. We will discuss the topics suggested in the works and express our opinions in class and essays. Students' ability in reading, writing, and apeaking will be improved, along with understanding of the Americans' national consciousness.  

評価方法: The grade will be based on attendance, class participation, short essays, quizzes, and final paper.
