Social Problems in USA

In this course, students will observe some typical social problems that affect people's lives in the USA. Topics to be dealt with include sex related social problems; alcohol and other drugs; violence; and prejucide and discrimination. Students will study these social problems by reading Social Problems, watching selected videos, and listening to tapes of relted topics.
The class aims at developing students' reading skills and vocabulary as needed to read newspaper articles and international news magazines such as TIME and Newsweek, and gaining socioculutal knowledge about USA through studying social problems.  

評価方法： 1) Attendance 10%
2) Class participation 10%
3) Presentation 30%
4) Final exam 40%
5) Others (homework, vocabulary test, etc.) 10%
