Study of Language and Mind

This course deals with various aspects of human language and its relation to mind in a nontechnical way. Topics covered will be broad, including language acquisition, brain science, evolution and the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. Choice of some of the topics is up to the registered students.
This course also aims at improving skills to express ideas in English in a clear way.
Students are encouraged to analyze people's views critically.  

評価方法: Evaluation will be based on class presentations, participation, and written assignments.
