Lawsuits in the US

Lawsuits in the US
Students often think of law as a difficult subject. To some extent this is a reasonable idea, but the aim of law is to find a solution which is fair. Common sense is as important as special knowledge and everybody should be able to form his/her own opinion about what is fair.
This course attempts to demonstrate to students that law is a subject with open-ended discussion, by reading simplified version of law suits. The students are also given opportunities to learn about the system and the structure of the law in the U.S. The students are encouraged to take or not to take a stand of the person involved in each case and discuss the verdict in oral and in written forms.
Films will be used to illustrate the areas studied.
