A survey of Native American (Indian) cultures of USA and Canada, including an overview of Indian origins, migrations, and prehistoric cultures. Emphasis will be placed on Indian tribal groups from various culture areas such as the arctic, sub-arctic, plains, West Coast, eastern woodlands and the Southwest. A considertion of native American technology, food, social organization, religion, art and the present status of reservations will be included. Films will be used to illustrate the culture areas studied.

4. Student presentation on specific tribal group (from text) 40%
