Introduction to Peace Studies

In this course, we will study about 'peace studies,' an approach among many in international affairs. What is 'peace' ? How can you create peace ? We will read the textbook, and critically examine the concepts and issues.
You will be required to read the text, do the exercises and activities, give oral presentations, and write a final essay. Additional research will be necessary.

評価方法：

Evaluation will be based on（１）attendance, （２）class participation,
（３）oral presentations,（４）final paper.

David P. Barash (Edited with notes by Kyoko Okumoto and Aiko Saito), Introduction to Peace Studies: The Meaning of Peace., Eihosha, 2002..
Must purchase the textbook.

注意事項：

Background in international relations is strongly recommended. This will be useful for those interested in study abroad in international relations and the United Nations Association Test of English (UNATE,Japan).
