Applied linguistics English as a Foregin Language Curriculum & Instruction

Current research interests are in the field of curriculum and instruction, particularly in instructional materials design and development. Research work at present is focussed on individualized and communicative classroom instructional systems for the learning and teaching of English as a foreign language in Japan.
In the past five years I have been closely associated with three major research projects in the above-mentioned field. These are the KIFL Curriculum Renewal Project in which a new English language curriculum and set of instructional materials have been developed for Kanda Institute of Foreign Languages, and the KELP and KEPT Projects at Kanda University.
