Žφ‹Ζ“ΰ—e Discourse Analysis looks at language as it is used in context. In this course we will study the principles of discourse analysis. We will examine both spoken and written discourse. Through discussion and presentation of data, we will come to a better understanding of the way discourse functions.
The class will cover a number of readings on Discourse Analysis. Students must read and prepare for discussions and presentations on the topics raised in the readings.
